Do you have a metal water bottle? Do you care about the ocean? If the answer is yes, we would like to thank you for that and encourage you to keep your bottle clean, and safe for your health.
Have you ever looked out the fond of your bottle and thought about how dirty it is? That is why most of the time we fill it with the water we drink and forget to wash it regularly; causing small traces of waste cumulating there.
Today, we will show how to clean your water bottle properly:
Frequency of cleaning:
Honestly, we recommend you clean your bottle after every use to avoid any kind of bacteria hoarding inside and assure a good smell for you. We suggest you free the bottle from liquids, and fill it with warm water and dishwashing soap, then shake it and leave it a couple of hours before rinsing. In case you want to try a more sustainable form you can use vinegar as well (putting equal portions of water and vinegar). Remember to wash it on the outside as well and dry it properly.
For the everyday users of the metal water bottle, as we think you are, we suggest you deep clean it at least once a week. You may wash it in your manual dishwasher with the use of your faucet or simply use a dishwasher machine. Moreover, metal water bottles may support up to 60℃ and they won't suffer damage with the temperature inside the dishwasher machine.
Important note: If for some reason your dishwater leaves a watermark in your bottle (what is pretty common), just dip the bottle into hot water for around 3 to 5 seconds and the mark will disappear.
